MCM are extremely proud of one of our young architects, Ahmed, who has recently graduated from the Sir John Cass School of Arts – London Metropolitan University, obtaining a Professional Diploma in Architecture (RIBA Part 2) with First Class honours.
Ahmed’s final design project examines the physical and cultural influence of the Refugee crisis in Athens. Athens used to be a gateway to Europe for people of war from countries such as Syria and Afghanistan, but now in a rapidly changing political situation, families are trapped by asylum regulation. The scheme focuses on designing a ‘Waystation’ which is a marketplace for refugees that facilitates the epidemic, and provides an opportunity to sign up to various organisations, giving the freedom to choose how they integrate into the city.
Well done from all at MCM!
