What do you love most about your job?

Being on site, seeing months of designing and planning coming to life.

Anything else?

Working with clients to understand and challenge their brief, ultimately creating a better environment for them that suits how they want to use the space. Designing well detailed, functional, elegant, and refined spaces that enhance everyday life. Its great going back to visit sites to see people enjoying the new space.

How are you finding working from home at the moment?

Work is a lot more focused and productive in many aspects. But I do miss colleagues, general office banter, project teams & industry contacts popping into the office for a chat.

What should clients expect?

I’m friendly, approachable and diplomatic, but I don’t shy away from the difficult questions. I push the design boundaries, always interrogating and challenging designs.

How do you approach challenges?

I look at all the different angles and the bigger picture to get a better perspective and find the best solution.

What brings out the best in you?

Usually a challenge under pressure! I’m good at working on my own, but also love bouncing ideas off the team and coming up with solutions together.

What’s your proudest moment at MCM?

Becoming an Associate & a client requesting that I work full time on their job – very flattering.

What first got you into design?

My parents. They nurtured my creative side and taught me how to draw. Art foundation was a key part in helping me work out which type of design I wanted to go into.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?

A joiner (creating woodwork) or a Pilates teacher.
