Condé Nast
Condé Nast, publisher of top magazine brands such as Vogue, GQ and Tatler to name a few has moved the rest of its editorial and business teams across from the iconic Vogue House to The Adelphi on London’s Embankment.
Condé Nast’s vision was to build a future focused on creativity, collaboration, and transparency, uniting its iconic brands, magazines, and London teams under one roof. This move presented a unique chance to reimagine the Condé Nast brand and its future ways of working.
For 65 years, Vogue House was the centre for fashion features, photoshoot prep, and runway collections. Now, these teams, along with Condé Nast’s international and digital units, are setting up a new HQ at The Adelphi.
This big move and change allows Condé Nast to shape an exciting new chapter.
MCM engaged deeply to understand every detail of Condé Nast’s diverse teams and functions, from the fashion cupboard and photography studios to the technical needs of viewing and editing suites. This understanding was essential for designing a purposeful space that enhances efficiency, productivity, and provides a seamless experience for employees and visitors alike.
Condé Nast’s iconic brand and history guided the design, celebrating its legacy while honoring each magazine’s unique personality. The space offers an elegant, timeless backdrop for displaying books, fashion, and photography, with tailored branding for each team. Layered fabrics, lighting, and furniture add distinct character to each area.
To promote collaboration and efficiency, we incorporated interconnecting staircases across three main floors, with landing zones designed to encourage natural connections between teams.
Inspired by Vogue House, we brought many iconic pieces to The Adelphi, linking past and future. Sustainability was central, with 80% of furniture and decor repurposed from Vogue House, keeping its spirit alive in the new space.
