Atrium started in 1984, but it’s history dates back as far as the 1930s. It operated from within the Lloyds of London building before deciding to relocate to a new London headquarters on the 20th Floor of 8 Bishopsgate in the heart of the City of London’s insurance district.
Atrium take pride in the profound knowledge and exceptional skills of their team, which have established them as one of the leading underwriters in London. They are now a united entity, seamlessly integrating the agency and the syndicate operations of the business to enhance collaboration and deliver greater value for their clients.
The new office can accommodate approximately 210 employees, with the majority in open plan configuration. MCM’s aspiration was to develop an enlightened and vibrant workspace that brings people closer together.
The space was created on the principles of incorporating greenery, nature and internal journeys whilst creating visual connections. It offers an inclusive and welcoming entrance, with bright, light-filled areas for social and business collaboration orientated to take advantage of the views of the city.
The palette and materials are confident yet understated, using natural contrasts to elevate Atrium’s branding. The thoughtful design has reinvigorated the office and created a space that people want to come in to and enjoy spending time in.
