Our new interior design project focuses on creating an all-inclusive, first-class experience for employees, visitors, and collaborators. By strategically utilising different locations, we have created distinct areas tailored to various working styles, fostering productivity, collaboration, and innovation.
The Arrival area:
Skyscanner’s HQ staircase is more than just a connector between floors; it’s a hub for interaction and creativity. The bespoke art installation above the staircase celebrates the brand’s essence of travel and exploration with a playful paper plane design featuring flight path patterns.
Adding to the charm, campfire-style seating at the staircase’s base invites colleagues to gather, appreciate the art, and bond over shared travel experiences. This fosters a sense of community within the company.
Upon entering the office, employees and visitors are welcomed to a vibrant space that celebrates the Skyscanner brand and encourages connections. A special postcard installation and map graphic become a focal point, inspiring everyone to share their travel experiences. Over time, this evolves into a collective travel book of adventures, showcasing personal stories from Skyscanner employees and visitors.
Focus Lounge: Nurturing Concentration and Deep Work
In the fast-paced world of modern business, concentration and deep work are crucial for optimal productivity. The Focus Lounge at Skyscanner has been meticulously designed to offer a serene and distraction-free environment. Equipped with soundproofing technologies, ergonomic furniture, and soft ambient lighting, this area provides employees a private sanctuary to focus on complex tasks, critical projects, and personal growth. The Focus Lounge is the ideal space for intense brainstorming, coding, and strategic planning.
Community Lounge: Building Bonds and Fostering Collaboration
Skyscanner recognises the power of social interaction in enhancing team dynamics and nurturing a sense of belonging. The Community Lounge has been thoughtfully crafted to promote meaningful connections and build a closely-knit community among employees. Event space has been created for the variety of townhall team gatherings, speakers, pop ups amongst others. A fully flexible area to create the space they need.

This cutting-edge space is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, flexible workstations, acoustic meeting, and quiet pods providing the perfect setting for workshops, design thinking sessions, and hackathons. The ambiance stimulates curiosity and experimentation, empowering employees to unleash their creative potential and shape the future of travel technology.
It was important within the innovation lounge we had quiet pockets which are nestled away appreciating the light and views for focused tasks.
Wellness Room with Biophilia: Nurturing Well-Being and Harmony
At Skyscanner, employee well-being is of utmost importance. The Wellness Room, immersed in the embrace of biophilia, has been designed to offer a tranquil escape from the bustling office environment. Lush greenery, natural textures, and calming elements create an atmosphere of serenity, where employees can recharge, find inner peace, and restore their energy. The room serves as a versatile space for quiet working, mindfulness practices, yoga classes, and various wellness events, fostering a healthier work-life balance.
